At Versailles Maine Coon Royale Cattery, the health and well-being of our cats and kittens are at the heart of our breeding program. ❤️
We carefully select our breeding cats with a focus on health, temperament, structure, and the wonderful personality Maine Coons are known for. Our goal is to give every family confidence knowing their kitten has been raised with exceptional care from the very beginning.
🧬 Comprehensive DNA Testing
Our breeding cats undergo comprehensive DNA screening for inherited genetic conditions included in our Maine Coon testing panel.
Our tested breeding cats have received N/N (negative) results for the tested disease-associated genetic variants.
Our genetic screening includes important Maine Coon health conditions such as:
• HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) – MYBPC3
• SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy)
• PKDef (Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency)
• PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) when included in the applicable testing panel
• Additional inherited conditions and genetic traits included in our comprehensive DNA panel
We use these results as an important part of making responsible and informed breeding decisions.
Health and genetic testing information is available to our families upon request.
🩺 Veterinary Care
Every kitten is carefully monitored from birth and receives a veterinary examination before joining their new family.
Before leaving our cattery, our kittens receive:
• Veterinary physical examination
• Age-appropriate first vaccinations
• Deworming
• General health and developmental evaluation
• Veterinary health records
We carefully follow each kitten's growth, development, personality, and overall well-being throughout their time with us.
❤️ Heart & Hip Health
The long-term health of our Maine Coons is very important to us.
In addition to genetic screening, we closely monitor the overall health, development, movement, and condition of our breeding cats.
We have not had any diagnosed cases of hip dysplasia in our breeding cats.
Additional cardiac or orthopedic evaluations may be performed when appropriate based on the cat's age, development, and veterinary recommendations.
